The White House announced that veteran GOP operatives including Shah will play a key role in the roll-out of Trump’s second nominee to the High Court. Having worked on Republican congressional campaigns, Shah is seen as pivotal in lobbying for the of U.S. Senators.
On Monday, July 9, Trump is expected to announce his choice to replace retiring Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy.
Shah is taking a leave of absence from his job as deputy press secretary to manage communications, strategy and messaging coordination with Trump’s Capitol Hill allies, a White House spokeswoman said.
The Norwalk native previously worked for the Republican National Committee and on the 2010 U.S. Senate campaign of former GOP Congressman Rob Simmons.
